Renewable Energy Centre, Mithradham is the first fully solar educational institution in India dedicated solely to the promotion of environment and renewable energy. The centre conducts regular training programmes in rnewable energy technology applications to technicians and entrepreneurs. The three areas in which training by international experts lasting for one week are 1. Energy from Biomass 2. Solar and solar assited drying 3. Solar P-V installations As a follow of the training programmes, Mithradham using the solar tunnel dryer for drying the ecoproducts produced at the organic farm land attached to the centre. The farm, processing and the products are certified organic by Lacon India Pvt. Ltd. At present spices, medicainal plants and fruits produced at the centre are dryed using tunnel dryer imported from Germany and small dryers constructed at Mithradham. |
