This is a very interesting article from Femi Awobusuyi, Nigeria

In the past, the main reason for people adopting solar cooking was to reduce the environmental degradation caused by using too much fuel wood. More recently, respiratory diseases caused by toxic smoke from cooking fires have been recognized as a major health problem.

II.

I would like to work on the project as part towards my studies.

Therefore I am looking for the layout of the solar kitchen and to work on it for study purpose. if that can be permitted

OF INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION FROM MILANO, ITALY

Since 2002 two small associations in the North of Italy (“Salvambiente” and “Oltreilconfine”) cooperated to promote the project SOLARCOOKING FOR AFRICA. One of them works mainly in the field of environment care, the other works in fair-trade and North-South projects. They sent nearly 100 solar cookers in 30 different countries through organizations and volunteers.

Project
Our small company is aiming to start producing solar dryers. Recently, we are constructing solar collector workshop and we hope to start produce combi-system for water heating and as well crops drying. Few farms producing organic food at Egypt need solar dryers.

If you have a website showing solar food processing examles you are welcome to send us this link via e-mail and we will add it then to this website. Please send it to solarfood at ises.org

Thank you

White eggs in round, not highly conductive containers (their shells) cook very well, though not rapidly in solar box cookers.

Different foods may require more conduction (like soups), others more radiation, (like cakes) Women with more than one cooker from the different prototypes may use one cooker with certain characteristics for one type of food and another with distinct characteristics for anothertype of food.
Project
During the last decades several organisations implemented many projects trying to introduce solar cookers in domestic households.
Experience shows that not only private households can profit from solar cookers but also small busnisses that use solar energy to produce any food product.
This example shows a small bakery in the North of Namibia. In May 2003 a Solar Stove was developed in Germany in order to produce 24 loaves at once. In September a second stove was built in Namibia and is used since that time.
The small scale bakery is able to bake up to 100 breads a day or about 300 little fish tin rolls.
